Privacy Policy

Effective October 7, 2026 · Revised October 8, 2026 (contact details updated) · Voice consent version 2026-10-07c

KinSpeak lets families record or upload a loved one's voice and turn it into stories, letters, and recipes they can play back. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We apply the same protections to every user, wherever they live.

Voice and biometric data

When you train a voice, we create a voiceprint: a digital model of how the person sounds, made from the recordings or audio file you provide. We treat the audio and the voiceprint as biometric data (sometimes called a biometric identifier), and we handle it under the strictest standard that applies, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, and the GDPR.

Other information we collect

How we use information

We use your information to run KinSpeak, generate the content you request, process purchases, send the messages you've opted into, provide support, and keep the service secure. Story and script text may be sent to our AI text provider (xAI) to help write or shape a story. Voice audio is never sent to it.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers named in this policy (Cloudflare, RunPod, xAI, Stripe, and our email and hosting providers), and only so they can do their part in running KinSpeak. We may also share it if the law requires us to, or to protect people from harm. Stories and playlists are private unless you choose to share them.

Your choices and rights

Children

KinSpeak accounts are for adults. Stories made in KinSpeak are often for children to listen to, but we do not allow training a voice from a recording of a minor, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we change how we handle voice data, we'll update this page and ask for your consent again before using voice data in a new way.
